About

I was fortunate enough to have lived for over 30 years in Brazil in a very international environment. My parents were British expats, I studied at an American high school and completed my B.A. at a Brazilian university.

My first job as a translator was for the international weekly edition of the leading financial newspaper Gazeta Mercantil. It was there that I discovered that translation was truly my vocation.

After heading two translation companies in Brazil and living in New York for a period, I moved to London in 2014 and am proud to say that this is now my home.

I hold a Master's degree in Translation from the University of Portsmouth and am a qualified member (MITI) of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting in the UK. I am also a government-certified sworn translator in São Paulo, Brazil and completed the Advanced Studies in Translation programme at the University of Denver.

I have excellent knowledge of both languages and cultures and am committed to maintaining the highest quality standards through meticulous research and several quality control checks. Translation is never a purely mechanical process: while artificial intelligence and language technologies can enhance efficiency and support research, professional language work ultimately relies on human judgement, cultural understanding and careful decision-making.

  Portuguese ↔ English translation charged per source word so there are no unpleasant surprises at the end of the job.
• Certified translation
  Translations requiring certification such as academic transcripts and personal documents accepted by institutions in the United Kingdom and Brazil.
• Transcreation
  Creative adaptation used for marketing, advertising and B2B communication. Fees are agreed with the client in advance and usually charged per project.
• Transcription
  English or Portuguese audio and video transcription for corporate training, trade fairs and reports.
• Editing and proofreading
  Review and editing of existing translations or original texts to ensure clarity, accuracy and stylistic consistency.
• Localisation
  Adapting content linguistically and culturally for a specific audience or market.

Surcharges may apply for complex formats, highly technical texts or urgent deadlines.

I am also happy to coordinate teams of translators and recommend trusted colleagues for multilingual projects.
