I was fortunate enough to have lived for over 30 years in Brazil in a very international environment - my parents were British expats, I studied at an American high school and got my B.A. at a Brazilian university. My first job as a translator was for the international weekly edition of a leading financial newspaper (Gazeta Mercantil) and it was there that I discovered that translation was for me! After having headed two translation companies in Brazil and living in New York for a while, I moved to London in 2014 and am proud to say that this is now my home!
I recently completed my Masters in translation from the University of Portsmouth and am qualified (MITI) by the Institute of Translation & Interpreting in the UK. I am also government certified (sworn translator) in São Paulo, Brazil and completed the Advanced Studies in Translation course from the University of Denver.
I have excellent knowledge of both languages and cultures and am committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in my translations through meticulous research and several quality control checks. I do not believe translation is a mechanical process and although machine translation tools do come very much in handy, it is intelligent decision-making that makes all the difference.
